AUSSIE WHITE

Our initial stud stock were purchased from Baringa Sheep Stud  and were all type 1 Rams and Ewes which present the sought after shedding qualities plus were sired by the highest quality Rams like Baringa 16A303 “WEAPON” and Baringa 17A012 “CRACKER” both being show champions in their own right.

There are many aspects to consider regarding the breed standards although the NAWSS best provides a comprehensive PDF outline on its website.  In short, the Australian White is a moderately large sheep breed that was developed as an easy-care animal with a good temperament that does not require shearing or crutching.  These sheep are natural shedders and renowned for their shedding ability and are suited to most Australian pastoral conditions.

In selecting the Australian White breed, we specifically were after an easy to manage animal with low input and production costs that would be suited to our high rainfall country and yield a good return on investment.
